RUTLEDGE – Grainger County youth will have the opportunity to learn hands-on fishing skills during the upcoming 4-H Angler Adventures Camp, scheduled for April 17–18 at Clyde Austin 4-H Camp.
Hosted by Grainger County 4-H in partnership with the UT Extension Institute of Agriculture and TSU Cooperative Extension, the camp offers a weekend focused on fishing education and outdoor learning.
Participants will explore different fishing styles, game fish species and aquatic habitats while gaining practical experience in bait selection, lure making and fly tying, knot tying and rig setups, minnow trap crafts and fish identification. The program will also include electrofishing demonstrations, fish sampling and a fish fry.
The camp is open to a limited number of youth with space capped at 50 participants. The cost is $100 per angler.
