The Grainger County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, January 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the central office conference room to take up a full slate of business for the new year. Members are expected to review the agenda for the evening, hear public comment and consider minutes from the previous meeting before moving into new and ongoing district matters.
The board will discuss the Student Advisory Committee, hear the system’s quarterly report and take up proposed budget amendments for the 2025‑26 school year. Members will also review TISA outcome information tied to state funding requirements and consider updates to school board policies.
Calendar adjustments may be on the horizon as the board weighs authorization for potential changes. Information regarding firearm safety instruction and an update on the Washburn property purchase are also listed for consideration. The meeting will conclude with other business as needed.
The district will also recognize TSBA School Board Appreciation Week, observed statewide January 25–31, honoring local board members for their service to Grainger County schools.
