RUTLEDGE – Grainger County Director of Schools Mark Briscoe has been recognized by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association as the School System Administrator of the Year for the West Grand Division. The honor was presented Friday November 14 during the annual Athletic District 1 Awards.
Briscoe was selected for his leadership, support of school athletics and commitment to advancing opportunities for students across Grainger County. The award highlights administrators who demonstrate strong guidance, integrity and dedication to student success both in the classroom and in athletic programs.
Other District 1 award recipients included Principal of the Year Jonathan Minton, Athletic Director of the Year Frankie Debusk, Female Coach of the Year Raven Borie, Male Coach of the Year Zach Schrandt, Official of the Year Kyle Cutshaw and Contributor of the Year Derwin Helton.
The TSSAA West Grand Division Awards recognize outstanding achievements among educators, coaches and community members who make a significant impact on student athletics statewide.
