Conard Hubert Longmire

Romans 8:18 (KJV) For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

 

Conard Hubert Longmire stepped thru the Gates of Pearl onto the streets of gold on January 4, 2026, with family by his bedside.  He left this life exactly as he wanted – in his house. Born March 4, 1930, 95 years ago in Loyston, TN, before Norris Dam was built.  His family then moved to Grainger County-Rutledge, TN.  Upon marriage to Blanche Lorene Hodge they moved to Horace, Kansas, where their family of three was born. They then moved/returned back to Tennessee in 1964, where upon they were the owners of Cherokee Market in the Shiloh Community.  He was known as a very staunch, faithful Christian man- honest, helpful, and trustworthy to a fault. He made a huge impact upon the community and the people he worked with. Conard was very prideful of the crops and gardens he raised.  He worked in tobacco, tomatoes, corn with various farmers, including Steve Longmire, Tennessee Homegrown Tomatoes. Hubert Williams Farms; and his Garden Buddy, Dan Livesay.  He raised hogs, cattle, and taught young boys how to drive trucks, tractors and how to live a Christian life according to the Bible. He was a quiet man, who made a lasting impression within his community. Conard was a member, teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and life-time deacon of Jefferson City Assembly of God Church.    He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Blanche Lorene Hodge Longmire; parents, Edgar and Grace Longmire; brothers, Elmer Lee Longmire, Earl Franklin Longmire, Walker Eugene Longmire, Wendall Huey Longmire; sisters, Minnie Doris Longmire Greenlee and Norma Dene Longmire McElhaney. Conard is survived by children, David (Nancy) Longmire, Diann Foister and Derald Longmire; grandchildren, Eddie, Shane, Melissa and Charles Foister, Amy (Eddie) Longmire Hogsten, Josh(Marideth) Longmire, Metina (Justin) Longmire Manning; great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Sawyer, and Colter Hogsten, Emily, Johnny, and Logan Foister, Brice, Ellie, Libby, Maggie, and Blake Longmire; brother, Carl Erwin (Gladys) Longmire ; sisters, Lois Alene Longmire Anderson, Ledena Gail Longmire Roach Bates; brothers-in-law, Robert Bates, Wayne Hodge (Donalene).  A very special thank you to the many friends and neighbors of Shiloh/Cherokee Community; the special nurses of Covenant Home Health, God Bless you each, and Shiloh Methodist Church Women of Faith.  Matthew 25:23 (ESV) His master said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant.  You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” Funeral Service 6:00 pm Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Fielden Chapel with Rev. Jack Eleam officiating. Interment 11:00 am Friday with Rev. Mike Hinkle officiating at Shiloh Cemetery in Grainger County, TN. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
