RUTLEDGE – Families across Grainger County are invited to begin the next step in their child’s educational journey as Grainger County Schools prepares for Pre-K registration for the 2026-2027 school year.
Pre-K registration will take place Tuesday, March 17 for children who will be 4 years old on or before August 15, 2026. The Grainger County School System encourages parents and guardians to enroll their eligible children in one of its Voluntary Pre-K programs.
Online enrollment will open March 17 through the Grainger County Schools website where families can follow the link to the Pre-K program page and enrollment form to complete the process. For those who prefer a paper enrollment packet, forms will be available by appointment at each participating school beginning March 17. Parents may contact Bean Station at 865-767-2131, Joppa at 865-828-5721, Rutledge Primary at 865-828-5614 or Washburn School at 865-497-2556 to schedule a time for packet pickup.
Families with questions regarding the enrollment process may contact Ginny McElhaney at 865-828-5436 for assistance. Voluntary Pre-K programs provide young learners with a strong academic and social foundation before entering kindergarten, and school officials encourage families to complete registration early to ensure placement consideration for the upcoming school year.
