RUTLEDGE — Cadets from the Grainger High School Grizzly Battalion JROTC took part in a whitewater rafting trip Sept. 27 along the Ocoee River, the same course used during the 1996 Olympic Games.
The event tested teamwork and leadership as cadets worked together through the rapids across five rafts, each guided by an instructor.
Cadet Damen Ragestorm, S5 Public Affairs Officer for the battalion, said the experience helped strengthen unity within the group.
“It was a challenging but fun experience,” Ragestorm said. “Everyone had a great time working together and pushing through the rapids. It really brought our battalion closer.”
The JROTC program at Grainger High School continues to provide cadets with opportunities to build leadership and cooperation through organized activities.
