MOORESBURG – Water service is gradually being restored across portions of the Mooresburg Utility District as crews continue work following a recent system outage.
Utility officials reported that water is slowly returning along Highway 31 up to the Poor Valley Bridge. Additional updates indicated that lines are now open along Highway 31 up to Spruce Pine Road and Carpenter Road.
Despite progress in restoring service, a boil water advisory remains in effect for customers in affected areas. Residents are advised to boil water intended for drinking, cooking and food preparation until the advisory is officially lifted.
The Mooresburg Utility District is also providing bottled water to customers for drinking purposes. Bottled water is available at the utility district office and water distribution will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Utility officials have not yet announced when the boil water advisory will be lifted and encourage residents to remain cautious as restoration efforts continue.
