WASHBURN — Andrew Johnson, a Washburn native, will appear on Wheel of Fortune when his episode airs December 26.
Johnson said appearing on the show followed four years of applying and was a deeply meaningful experience.
“Appearing on the Wheel of Fortune was one of the most surreal and meaningful experiences of my life. After applying for four years in a row, finally stepping onto that iconic stage felt like the culmination of so much hope, persistence, and belief.”
He said returning to his roots made the moment especially emotional, including being able to share it with family.
“There was a quiet, emotional weight to it for me. I grew up in Washburn, and that sense of home has always stayed with me no matter where I’ve gone. Getting to bring my mother, Rhonda, who still lives in Washburn, along with my fiancé, Roman, to Los Angeles to watch the filming made the experience even more special.”
Johnson said representing his hometown on a national stage was an honor he will carry with him.
“To represent my hometown in such a meaningful way was truly an honor. It reminded me that big dreams can grow from small places, and that sometimes the things that we hope for really do find their way into our lives — even if it takes a few tries.”
